Facilitator

A stateless service that verifies and settles x402 payments on behalf of a resource server so the server never needs to hold funds or integrate a chain client.

Facilitators are the verification and settlement layer of x402. When a client submits a signed payment payload, the resource server forwards it to a facilitator, which verifies the signature, settles the transaction on-chain, and returns a verdict. Facilitators abstract away chain-specific logic, allowing any HTTP service to accept stablecoin payments without becoming a crypto integrator.
