At the EasyA hackathon at Consensus Miami on 7-8 May, nearly 1,000 developers from Base, Solana, Microsoft and Google built AI-native startups across autonomous payments, drones, prediction markets and consumer apps - and Coinbase-sponsored x402 challenges took the top three slots. Winner Dairy Price API x402 ships pay-per-call commodity pricing and forecasting for agents, settled in USDC on Base with no API keys. Runner-up AgentPay built a coordination layer giving humans one-tap approval over agent transactions with AWS-powered risk validation. Third-place Giggy launched a marketplace where agents are hired for research tasks. Other notable x402 entries: Rhythym (Solana Seeker-native productivity app for executive dysfunction, x402-paid agent workflows) and Chainlens (verification layer that only releases payment after an agent's response is authenticated). First high-signal evidence of what actual builders pick when handed both AP2 and x402 inside one event - and they picked x402.
